Philippe de CanckThis artist was born on the 12th May 1955 in Nancy (France) where he has a musical revelation during the time of Pink Floyd in the 70s. The day after the concert, he quits his job as an apprentice in a sweet shop and buys an old piano on which he composes his first works.

With Acintya, the progressive rock group that he founded, he obtains the highest distiction possible of the time, a victory at the Golf Drouot.

After the creation of a sound and light show in front of 30000 people in his home town, he signs a contract with an english producer who takes him to the mythical studios of London, Manchester and Liverpool where he meets such greats as Robert Fripp and the fabulous group Led Zeppelin. This experience will give him an unwavering confidence in his forthcoming projects, and leads him to discover the infinite possibilities of orchestration and independance that the synthesiser offers him. His influences at that time, Bach, Mozart, great groups such as Yes, Genesis, King Crimson and the great French organists of the beginning of the century Widor, Vierne, Saint Saens....

Greatly excited at this fantastic Universe, he is deeply moved by the romantic readings of Brahm Stoker (Dracula) which introduce romanticism to Phillipe, and by the works of Roman Polanski, Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch and such films as Death in Venice, "Le Grand Meaulnes" and Blade Runner.

The numerous musical illustrations that he produces lead him to film, and he co-produces a 35 mn clip of Nora, No 1 top model of 1989. Snubbed by the French record industry, he owes his sucess to meeting in Cannes with a Canadian company who entrust him with producing 50 new age albums, themed music inviting meditation and personal journey.

At the same time he composes The Requiem which is at the base of the scenario. In the Autumn of 2002 it is played 5 times in the most beautiful churches of Indre, with choir soloists and an orchestra, and it is a resounding sucess. The same year he produces a documentary "The Life Of Saint Nicolas" about the life of this mythical Saint, origin of Father Christmas.
